As of October 1st, 2015, the mandatory switch to EMV payments will take place affecting every single business in the United States. This transition is not an option, it will be the new standard for accepting payments. The good news is, this transition is a proven system, already adopted by the rest of the world, that significantly decreases the chances of credit card fraud.
There is a small catch with this transition, if your business is not set up to accept EMV payments by the October 1st deadline, your business will now be held liable for any and all fraudulent activity.
True Merchant is dedicated to informing the public of this transition and making sure that businesses are EMV compliant. If your business is currently operating within the Pittsburgh or surrounding areas, True Merchant is also hosting live educational events to help businesses with the transition.
If you have any questions about the transition, please feel free to contact us and speak with one of our specialists!
